Controls feel good, quick respawns and nice color palette. A well made solid game. Only things I can say against it is invisible borders and the desolate look in the players eyes(jk).

Played. It works. The game is small and straightforward enough, so can't say much about it. Controls are responsive enough (nothing really special, but I've already seen couple of games where controls are more painful, including platformers where devs were greedy about their jump, it was so small and quick it was really hard to land where you want). Minor things: the initial hint disappeared before I finished reading it. It's a little bit confusing that you need to collect candies, but your enemies are also candies, so I also tried to collect the enemies. Riding on top of one of them till death was funny, I guess collision boxes are actually squares. Invisible world borders are also slightly confusing.

It was short but enjoyable, but the title screen, death screen, and the ending screen doesn't fit in the screen properly. The start button was barley visble (found at the bottom of the screen) and I was unable to find a button to respawn from "you died" screen. That was my only complaint everything else seemed good, movement was nice and the peppermint enemies are cute.

i changed the screen resolution, did it help at all?

Yeah, the resolution is perfect. 👍
